More Celebration at Myddelton College

Posted: 22nd August 2019

Following on from excellent A level results one week ago, where Upper Sixth Leavers celebrated their exam successes with university entry, we are again delighted to announce an outstanding set of results at GCSE.

78% of our Year 11 GCSE students have achieved grades 9, 8 or 7, the equivalent of A* or A grades and 100% A*-C.

50% of all pupils achieved 5 or more A*/A (7-9) grades, with 41.6% of all results being A*/A (7-9).

Headmaster, Andrew Allman commented,

“I should like to congratulate all of our students on their excellent results.

We are very proud of them; they worked exceptionally hard and took full advantage of the initiatives to improve their learning and revision techniques introduced throughout their GCSE courses.

We are very fortunate to have hard working students and talented teaching staff, as well as supportive parents.

We look forward to welcoming a large number of successful and enthusiastic students into the Sixth Form in September.”

Megan Bishop, who achieved a suite of outstanding results, including 4 grade 9s, 2 A*s and 3 A grades, commented

“I feel relieved that all of the build-up is finally over and was worth it and I can now relax. I am looking forward to studying Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science and Spanish at Myddelton in September.”

Megan’s mother went on to say

“We are very proud of Megan who has worked continually hard and thank you to Myddelton for their support.”

Katherine Balmer, another top performer included 3 A*s grades, a grade 8, and 4 grade 7s commented ““I was a bit hysterical, I am so happy that the work has been worth it and I am looking forward to Sixth Form at Myddelton College.”

Katherine’s parents said “it was an emotional experience and all of the hard work has paid off”

Katherine will be studying Politics, English Language, History, and Psychology at Myddelton College.

Andrew Allman went on to say,

“This is an exciting time for Myddelton College as its student body continues to grow in numbers.

These results reflect the academic vision that Myddelton College has been striving to achieve since opening in 2016. We will continue to build on these successes and look forward to taking the College to greater success in the future.”
