Tennis at Myddelton College is led by John Whitehall, an award-winning former professional tennis player. In February, Myddelton College received a special mention from Tennis Wales for our work in re-introducing tennis through our top-class coaching programme.
Our Equestrian Facility offers the option to stable onsite permanently or there is a day stable available to accommodate for lessons. There are two 20 metres by 40 metres all-weather arenas and a ten-acre field and with easy access to a network of bridle paths in the surrounding Vale of Clwyd countryside. Become part of the schools equestrian team, enabling you to represent and participate in discipline events. The school can also organise specialist training and tuition for riding of all levels of abilities.
Myddelton College will be partnering with Advance Player Development (APD) to offer an opportunity for pupils to excel both in the classroom and on the pitch. The APD Myddelton Football Academy aims to help young footballers experience a professional environment and unlock their potential. We welcome all abilities and want each player to fulfil their own potential.
Our student embrace sports and fitness and make use of our 37½ acre campus. Our campus has a full size football pitch, rugby pitch, 4 tennis courts, indoor climbing wall, Caving simulator, large indoor sports hall, dance studio and gym area as well as a brand new Equestrian facility! Our students benefit from our facilities, improving their physical health as well as their mental wellbeing. During their time with us, your child will participate in activities which promote teamwork and independence, build agility, communication skills and coordination.
The Sports and Outdoor Learning Department offers a wide range of programmes to support students’ academic learning and ensure they enjoy their time at the college and are physically fit. The students gain a diverse range of experiences that will benefit them physically, socially and develop discipline and leadership skills needed to be successful in the future, be it in further education or employment. The college has many athletes that compete in national teams including triathlon, swimming, gymnastics, horse riding, sailing, climbing and ice skating among others.
We realise it takes a lot of support to help these young athletes reach their full potential. Participation in national events and competitions means they may need to leave college early at times. Our Student Development Centre is on hand to give them the academic support they require. And our Microsoft OneNote software enables these students to easily catch up with any lessons they have missed.
