Myddelton College recognised as a global leader in successful integration of technology with teaching and learning
Myddelton College, Denbigh, was selected by Microsoft as a 2016-2017 Microsoft Showcase School for their excellence in transforming its learning environment to deliver more personalised education to students. They are also recognised for using mobile and cloud technology to better prepare students for success in the workplace.
Myddelton College joins an exclusive community of more than 850 premier schools from around the world, one of only 34 throughout the entire UK, one of four throughout Wales and the only Global Showcase School in North Wales. The award is in recognition of the truly pioneering efforts and innovation in rethinking teaching, learning and assessment in order to drive deep 21st century competencies.
With the forthcoming academic year being Myddelton College’s first year with students, this is an even greater honour for the college. The innovative pedagogy and teaching methods the school will use are key to the future success of the students. The College motto, “More than Just an Education”, is at the heart of the design and curriculum.
The College is also celebrating the fact that 5 of the teaching staff have been awarded the global recognition from Microsoft as Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts, for the work they have put in to develop the innovative curriculum.
As a Showcase School, Myddelton College will work closely with Microsoft to lead innovation in education and communicate a vision for education enabled by technology through the hosting and mentoring of other schools in the community on transformational educational practices.

As well as being recognized on a global scale for their innovative approach to educating tomorrow’s workforce, Showcase Schools receive additional collaboration opportunities with other schools around the world, access to professional development opportunities, invitations to exclusive events, access to Microsoft Innovative Educators Experts (MIE Experts) on staff to help drive innovation and to support staff, peers and students, and more.
