Greetings from Italy! 🌋🇮🇹
Our Year 9–13 humanities students arrived safely in Naples and were ready to explore the Geography and History of Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius over the next few days.
They enjoyed a relaxing evening at the Lido Metamare beach, just a short elevator ride down the cliffside from the hotel — the perfect start to an exciting Italian adventure!
From Naples to Sorrento! 🇮🇹🍕🧀
After a quick bus ride from Naples, our students arrived in Sorrento ready for their first activity — and what an experience it was!
They discovered how authentic mozzarella is made, with Lily and Grace even getting the chance to braid their own! Afterwards, everyone rolled up their sleeves to make pizzas from scratch, before enjoying a well-earned tasting session.
Verdict? Nothing beats real Italian pizza!
On Top of the World — Mt Vesuvius! 🇮🇹
Our students hiked all the way to the summit of Mt Vesuvius (1,281m) — one of the world’s most famous volcanoes!
From the top, they took in breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples and explored evidence of past eruptions, bringing their Geography studies to life in the most incredible setting.
Discovering Pompeii’s Past 🌋
Students on their Italy trip were captivated as they explored the ancient ruins and learned about the Roman city that was tragically buried by the eruption of 79 AD.
A fascinating experience that sparked curiosity, reflection, and a deep appreciation for the past.
Exploring the Island of Capri 🌊
Students travelled by ferry to the beautiful island of Capri, enjoying a Laser Boat Tour around its stunning coastline. They then took the funicular to the main town to explore the sights and visit the elegant Augustus Gardens.
The day ended with a refreshing lemon sorbet served in a real lemon — the perfect treat after a wet and windy adventure.
