On Friday, the whole Myddelton College community stepped away from the classroom to celebrate our three key pillars – Scholarship, Fellowship and Resilience – with a brand-new event: Three Pillars Day.
For the first time, pupils from across the school came together in their Houses to connect with nature, each other, and the values that lie at the heart of life at Myddelton.
✨ Each House set out on a walk to the Lake that inspired its name, enjoying the chance to spend time outdoors together.
✨ Along the way, pupils built friendships, encouraged one another, and showed true House spirit.
✨ Back at school, they began the next stage of the project: researching the ecology of “their” Lake and helping design a new House logo inspired by the flora and fauna they encountered.
What made the day especially meaningful was that it was student-led. Our Year 13 House Captains launched the initiative with a special assembly, and they are now running a follow-up House competition to design the new logos.
One House Captain summed up the spirit of the day perfectly: “It was amazing to see the whole House together – all ages walking side by side, helping each other out. That’s what being part of Myddelton is all about.”
The day was a brilliant reminder that our pillars are not just words on a page – they are lived experiences. Scholarship in learning from the world around us, Fellowship in building lasting friendships, and Resilience in supporting one another on the journey.
A wonderful day of connection, belonging, and House pride – and the start of a new Myddelton tradition.
