The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a prestigious internationally recognised youth achievement award. Myddelton College is a direct licensed DOFE centre which enables students in year 9 and above to enrol. There are four award sections to choose from: Physical, Skills, Volunteering and Expedition. The aim of the award is to challenge individuals and push the boundaries of personal development. The process is driven by the students themselves to promote skills such as leadership, communication, determination and problem-solving and encourage compassion for others. There are 3 levels, Bronze Silver and Gold, which progressively increase the challenge. Those that achieve the Gold level are invited to receive their award in a special ceremony at St James’s Palace, London, in the presence of HRH The Duke of Wessex.
