Beth Shalom National Holocaust Centre

Year 9 visited Beth Shalom National Holocaust Centre and Museum this week, where they listened to a survivor from Auschwitz.

They have been studying this term in Religious Studies major religious questions including the problem of evil and suffering. Likewise through their History course, they have become aware of the origins of the Second World War. The visit to Beth Shalom is designed as a precursor for GCSE work next year for prospective students in both RS and History, and as an important part of general education for all pupils whatever their options next September.

Pupils added to a memorial to the young people murdered in the Holocaust by visitors, by selecting a stone from the trough and placing it on the memorial, in tribute to one of the 1.5 million individual children who died.
